Celebrating one year of dating

It may be a good idea to not make your plans a surprise..

Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc. If you are more like me (and I didn't read the entire thread, so I'm clueless on that note! This thread has gotten me to thinking about how we should celebrate. I've been dating a guy for two weeks and already can't remember the date we first met, but then again, I can't remember my mom's birthday either. My now ex and I celebrated our one year anniversary of dating by getting married in 02.

Hopefully you will all have fun meeting singles and try out this online dating thing... Geez, I can't seem to meet someone and make it to date three. Hmmm ~ I think I'd just ask him what he'd like to do and make the appropriate plans. ) I'd want to do an amusement park, a circus, a day trip somewhere unknown to us both, maybe something like sky-diving or one of those really cool luge-simulator thingies. I'm thinking..up the heat, have a naked picnic in bed, drink champagne out of the bottle and watch reruns of The Office. So, if nothing else, congrats on having a damn good memory. If he doesn't I might not go too overboard as it may make him feel like he *should* have remembered. It seemed romantic at the time, getting married one year to the day, and it was romantic for a while. Right gesture perhaps, but wasted on the wrong woman.

Today is the fourth anniversary of that blind date, and for the past few years we’ve always just called this day “our anniversary.” But last summer we got married and now, as our first wedding anniversary approaches, it’s occurred to us that we can’t keep calling May 5th “our anniversary” if July 24th is “our anniversary” too. We talk about how, by the end of the night, it seemed clear there was … I lived in Chicago at the time; he lived here in New York. But when a special occasion rolls around, we do use it as an excuse to pop open some champagne or go out for dinner.
